Last day at work

Bericht vom Freitag, 28.07.:

Bevor ich auf meinen letzten Arbeitstag zu sprechen komme, habe ich noch zwei Bilder vom Innenleben "Brogan's".

Now it's time for all the people who always asked: 'Is he really working in Dublin or is he just having party, making hiking trips and going out with other students?' Now it's the time to talk about the real reason of being here in Ireland. My internship with REHAU Ltd.! By the way, I mentioned the company in the beginning! ;-)
First of all I want to take the chance to introduce you to my colleagues.
These are Donna and Alan (soccer expert and my personal teacher for new words)...

Alan doesn't like being on pictures, which looks for example like that... :-)

Here you can see Helen (left hand side; will get married in Austria) and Donna (right hand side; it was her wedding Luzia and I have been). The other picture shows the "magic T-Sign", invented by Helen. After a while Helen and I
asked each other no longer for a tea, we just made this sign. Between 1-3 times a day. :-)

--> Our team of salesmen: Rory (with the new REHAU-Shirt; probably just selling electric underfloor heating *g*), Declan (my personal GAA-man; Thank you for the tickets!) and Conor (just joined the company two weeks ago and after my leaving the youngest guy; Thank you for the Hurley and the Sliotar!).

And this is our sales office leader, my boss Jochen (originally German).

Ah ok, and eventually: That's me and my working desk:

The reason for all these picture is that Friday was my last day at work.
After five months, which flew by very quickly, it was the time to say goodbye.
And, which was really a surprise, it had a touch of Christmas for me. I got a lot of presents from REHAU (e. g. coloured pens, a book with impressions of Ireland, a toy car, ...) and something from my colleagues as well: an Ireland Soccer Jersey and a Sliotar! (= Hurling ball) Brilliant! Fantastic! Here are some pictures of the "Xmas" time, made by Helen. Thanks!

Because we haven't managed to get out all together and having a pint we decided to have my "last supper" at 'John M Keating Restaurant'. - Better known as 'Mary's Church Pub'! You now, the former church and the toilets! ;-) Jochen and Rory went on holidays as well, so it was a very good occasion.
Declan couldn't join us, I'm afraid, but we will have a pint before I'm leaving! All the others - or better: nearly all of us ('Didn't we say Sanzbar?!?' :-) - met directly at Mary's Church Pub for a sneaky pint.
The meal itself was very tasty. Nice atmosphere, good wine and a lot of fun. However, My favourit dessert was 'Apple Strudel'. :-) Donna ordered it and I finally finished the last pieces. Mmmmmh very good! It reminded my of home... So I'm thinking of goint to Mary's Church Pub just for a 'Apple Strudel'.
Here are some pictures from the meal:

Having finished and being totally stuffed, our new mission was to find a nice pub for the night. After several discussions ('Let's got to Sanzibar?' - 'No, I don't like Sanzibar' - 'Ok let's got direction Sanzibar!' - 'But not to Sanzibar!' - ...) we managed to find a pub: "Turk's Head" in Temple Bar. I've never been there, but it was on my still-to-do-list! Perfect!
The interior is quite interesting and the music is not to bad either. Nice place! And I had a new drink this night: Baby Guinness. Which consists of "Kahlúa" (brown; symbolizing the Guinness) and "Bailey's" (symbolizing the head of the Guinness). Kahlúa on the bottom and Bailey's on the top! Tasty, easy to drink and that's why also a little bit dangerous! :-)

To make a long story short: We all had a great night and it was good craic! (Irish word for "fun"; speak: "kräck") It's just a pity that we didn't manage to do things like that more often.
@Declan: How about Friday for a pint? Who wants to join us? You're very welcome!

Finally I want to say THANKS A MILLION to all of you: Alan, Conor, Declan, Donna, Helen, Jochen and Rory (alphabetically arranged *G*). It was a great time, you've been very helpful and nice, so I learned a lot and I won't forget all the fun we had! Hopefully we can stay in touch!
I wish you all the best for the future! Take care!!!
